Nautanki.tv goes Global

ITN UK - one of the world's leading news and multimedia companies has entered into an agreement to have their content on Nautanki.tv making it the first global broadcaster to partner with the platform. The channel is live on the network since 16th March 2009.

It all began in October 2008, when Mr. Sunil R Nair, CEO of Nautanki.tv met Mr. Nicholas Wheeler, MD, ITN ON (ITN’s multimedia division for online and mobile platforms) at MIPCOM in Cannes. Mr. Wheeler found the core idea behind Nautanki.tv – of distribution through widgetisation an interesting concept, as opposed to a portal or destination based model to generate viewership.

Almost 8 percent of the Nautanki.tv views come from the UK and Mr. Wheeler was keen to tap the market of the Indian Diaspora in UK. The key factor for ITN was the vastness and spectrum of viewership of the Nautanki.tv network.

ITN will go live with seven shows on Nautanki.tv - News Bulletins, Gamerzine TV, T3 Gadget show, Game on, This is Genius and English Premier League stories amongst others. ITN plans to experiment in the future with their niche programming using Nautanki.tv as the distribution platform.

Nautanki.tv recently partnered with Viacom 18 for their MTV India and Colors channels and with Broadcast Initiative for Mi Marathi and Live India news channel. With these tie-ups most of the major television broadcasters in India are now part of the Nautanki.tv Platform.

Music Today for a fresh tomorrow on Nautanki.tv

The myth that certain genres of music do not do well on the internet is put to test by Nautanki.tv.

Music Today, a division of The India Today Group has emerged as the most prestigious label in classical Indian music taking the lead in preserving and promoting India's rich musical heritage the world over.

It succeeds in presenting and making Indian classical music more accessible to newer audiences, spelt out in its innovative and editorially strong concepts and well thought out themes like Ragas from Dawn to Midnight, Songs of the Seasons and Shringar.

Music Today came onboard the Nautanki.tv platform on 9th February 2009 with the best Indian music on offer, including World Music, Sufi and Maestros.

We also look forward to their vast repertoire that includes Hindustani and Carnatic music, semi classical forms, devotional, sufi, folk, regional, wedding songs and new age music.

Founder and CEO of Nautanki.tv, Sunil R. Nair says, “There is a myth that certain genres of content do not do well on the internet. We at Nautanki.tv, have taken it up as a challenge and launched Music Today, a channel catering to World, Sufi and other forms of folk and classical music. The interesting part here is the increasing number of views since the day we launched. Today, the channel has 0.3 million views per day on an average. We are also looking forward to shows related to lifestyle and other genres from the record label. Not only will the viewers have more music to listen to, but they will also have a chance to rejuvenate themselves with the other lifestyle shows being launched in the near future on Music Today.”
